Novel Methods For Developing Medical-Engineering Cooperation In Orthopedic Surgery

Submit Abstract

Collection Overview

Medical-engineering cooperation plays an important role in the development of orthopedic surgery. In recent years, due to the combination of medical discovery and engineering technology, many new techniques, instruments, and creative concepts have emerged in all subjects of orthopedic surgery. Such as the design of a minimally invasive surgical approach, the precise implantation of the prosthesis, artificial intelligent-assisted surgical planning, etc. The medical-engineering cooperation can not only improve the medical level and benefit the patient but also accelerate the development of the medical device industry.

The aim of this collection is to collect methods benefiting the development of medical-engineering cooperation in orthopedic surgery. The subjects included but were not limited to: (1) Digital orthopedics: personalized implants, 3D-printing, AR/VR, Artificial intelligence surgical planning, navigation/robot-assisted orthopedic surgery, visual surgical education, digital rehabilitation, etc. (2)Surgical technique improvement and innovation: minimally invasive approach, innovative surgical instruments, and implants, new procedures or innovative concepts in orthopedic surgery.
